Bead*light® - Aerospace
The pioneering range of Bead*light® aerospace lights combines advanced electronic and mechanical design with style. 
Designed for First Class and Business Class Aircraft Cabin Seating these unique lights employ the Bead*light® diffusion system to provide an even white light, ideal for reading by, unlike the harsh glare usually produced by competitive LED (Light Emitting Diode) products. Beadlight Ltd. (then known as Telectra Ltd.) was the first company to design, engineer and manufacture a LED reading light for use in commercial jet airliners (for Virgin Atlantic) in 1997/8.
Bead*light® in-seat lighting is designed to augment the style and comfort of premium class commercial aircraft seating with lights designed through the mind of a designer and then to incorporate advanced technology ensuring safe and unobtrusive operation.
Flexible Bead*light®
The Flexible Bead*light® consists of a shaped lamp head incorporating the electronics of the LED array and Bead*light® diffusion system.
The head flows onto a flexible stem attached to the seat. This lamp has the potential to be considerably customised through the head finish, stem length, stem covering etc.
The original light model was first in operation with KLM. The Surface Mount Flexible Bead*light® enjoys similar features of the Flexible Bead*light® but with the added benefit of a solid base for attaching to the seat as, for example, a table light.
Swivel Bead*light®
The Swivel Bead*light® is a state of the art LED light that fits flush in the seat surround when in the “off” position.
Utilising the same advanced electronics of the Flexible Bead*light® this unique light provides illumination where a flexible solution is not appropriate.
Designed, engineered and manufactured by Beadlight Ltd., the lamp was first in service with Virgin Atlantic in the “Upper Class Suite”.
Bead*light® Capsule
The Bead*light® Capsule offers solutions to a wide range of applications within the seat environment. Existing applications already include diffuse colour washes, mini-bar illumination and bespoke table lights.
Creative design and bespoke projects
Utilising patented Bead*light® technologies and utilising a Quality Management System that complies with BS.EN.ISO 9001.2000, Bead*light® lamps are flying on Airbus and Boeing platforms as well as having been externally laboratory assessed for the International standard IEC 60825-1:2001 / EN 60825-1:2001. The lamps are certified as “Class 1 LED products” the safest rating under this standard. The quality of light from Bead*light® lamps, ensures the well being and comfort of the airline’s passengers
