

With a background of Accountancy and Business Studies Pat became one of the two executive directors of “Solid State Logic” which increased turnover one hundred fold in seven years. During that time, the company became the World’s leading professional audio company and won the Queens Award for Export and Technology.
In 1985 he and Joan founded the “Objective Science Group” and took it from start-up to one of the top 10 independent telecommunications companies in the country. The company was purchased by SDX plc and Lucent Technologies. He has held a number of non-executive director positions, one of which was “Telectra” (renamed "Beadlight") which he purchased in October 2002. Following completion of a strategic business review, the company was re-organised, achieved ISO 9001:2000, implemented a new product design programme and installed a new management team.

Leaving college as an analytical biochemist and industrial microbiologist, Alan used his qualifications to good use by applying them to sales and marketing functions within the retail financial services industry! Hmmm…. This obvious choice culminated in his appointment as Managing Director of the largest subsidiary of The Woolwich Bank (a FTSE 100 company) in 1996. He has subsequently held directorships in New Media, Telecommunications and the Recruitment Sectors, managing a web-design agency, building and managing an internet services operation and designing, constructing & directing a unique web-enabled recruitment solution. He brings to the role a wealth of sales and marketing experience and a broad commercial approach to innovation in technology. |
Joan studied ACCA’s Diploma in Accounting and Finance and from her time working for British Leyland, her career has embraced most areas of cost accounting and financial control. With Pat, she founded the “Objective Science Group” and took it from start-up to one of the top 10 independent telecommunications companies in the country. The company was purchased by SDX plc and subsequently Lucent Technologies. At Beadlight, she has re-organised production, introduced a new stock control system and structured the management accounting function.
Alan’s career has taken him through a wide range of disciplines including electronic, electrical, mechanical and instrumentation engineering. He has worked for number of prestigious companies leading to the position of the Senior Design and Development Engineer at Raychem. He has specialist knowledge in solid state lighting designs particularly involving microprocessor control and programmable features, design of control systems and the design of data acquisition systems. He has expert knowledge in ISO 9001 and EMC practices.
